Itinerary in brief
VINHLONG – MEKONG DELTA
Overview
Vinhlong is the capital of Vinhlong province, 136km southwest of Hochiminh city. Located in the centre of Cuulong delta, formed by the sedimentation of Tiengiang and Haugiang rivers, two big branches of Mekong River, this diverse and fertile soil gives to the farmers here the heavy crops and fruitful gardens as well as rich livestock farms.
Detail program
Today you’ll departure early to Caibe; takes the boat cruising on Tiengiang River.
You’ll start with the visit of Cai Be colorful floating market, cruising among local barges full of fruits and vegetables, passing also the fish harbor, where the fish-men anchor their boats after a long trip return from the sea, discharge fish, and repair fishing nets…etc.
You’ll stopover to visit the workshop, where people produce rice paste, coconut candy, pop-rice, and popcorn…etc.
It is also so interesting to visit the handicraft village, where you can see how some special products, such as: rice-net for spring-rolls, fish sauce & soya sauce, cooking salt, sewing coconut-leaves for cottage proof...etc are made.
A rowing boat takes you deeper into the countryside on the smaller canals, passing by the traditional houses, which made of wood, and palm trees’ leaves, enjoying peaceful time on the boat, at the same time, watching the daily life of the farmers (catching fish or picking up fruits by the ancestral way in Mekong Delta). You’ll have also an opportunity to make an acquaintance with them.
Have late lunch in one of the family house (Vietnamese set menu).
After lunch, you’ll walk around, visit the old house, where the traditional agriculture instruments are displayed, here you’ll have the opportunity to enjoy the folk music of this region, taste the excellent fruit of Mekong Delta, drinks tea or coconut juice.
It will be so amazing trekking or biking through Anbinh isle on the village paths; visit the fruit garden, the primary school & the local market…etc.
Then continue by boat to Vinhlong city.
Strolling along the dike of the river, and visit the small market nearby.
The driver will pick you up in Vinhlong, and returns to Hochiminh city.
